Pussy Galore

Pussy Galore were one of the greatest bands of all time, gifting the world with one of the greatest album titles of all time: Dial M For Motherfucker. Ugly people making an ugly noise – the only viable reaction to the late 1980′s in which they emerged. I only discovered them after they’d disbanded but their music became the soundtrack to my disenchantment with the late 1990′s. Their absolute disregard for anything and everything was an attitude that made nihilism look like a sincere commitment, and that was exactly how I felt throughout the ‘Britpop’ era and into the first years of New Labour. Twenty years on from when these records were made they still sound powerful and have not aged at all. They could and should be the music for today’s disenchanted generation, and in support of my argument I give you:
